CAUTION: Avoid breaking ears!!!

Do NOT install this cover in the seat by tightening the bolts. 

First tap this lid gently with a rubber hammer in the correct position, so that the lid first closes securely in the seat. Otherwise, the ears will break off.

The bolts are designed to prevent this lid from falling loose. The bolts are NOT for pulling the cover through the rubber ring.
